Hi there and thanks for taking time out to read this first introductory blog.

A brand new women's group for the Facebook generation has been set up to attract North West ladies looking to share their skills. I'm Caroline Mawdsley an IT professional and I have joined forces with two L&D professionals Elaine Roberts and Sue McGrath to set up OneWoman North West.

As professional women, too young for the WI or U3A, we believe there is a real need for a group that helps to support and equip women with the skills they need in today’s world. In the same way as the WI taught skills that were very necessary in the 1950/60’s, so we are looking to enhance and update these values. OneWoman will be different from other Women groups as it is not just about networking. Events will be a mixture of social events and business meetings and our aim will be that after every meeting people will feel they have gained something, be it knowledge, inspiration, renewed confidence or perhaps just meeting someone to have a coffee and a chat with.

However, we envisage that as the group develops the natural progression will be that members with businesses will want to support and work with each other.

The groups first meeting is on 8th September at Hurlston Hall golf and Country Club with a fantastic speaker Lisa Walters.
The theme for the evening is 'The power of the mind' and the use of hypnosis in inspiring confidence and promoting relaxation. So, if you fancy trying something new in a fun and social way get in touch today, we'd love to see you there.
